Retail Product Videos for Carhartt Bags
How we shot 15 videos for Carhartt in Utah

This was a commercial video project for Carhartt focused on retail product videos and a brand video that was shot and edited by The Bureau. The goal was to create clean yet raw, on-brand content for use across Amazon, Carhartt’s website, and in-store displays.
If you're looking for outdoor product video production or ecommerce content with grit and authenticity, here's how we pulled this off in the mountains of Utah.

14 Product Videos + 1 Brand Video
We delivered 14 videos (30 seconds), highlighting individual bags plus one 60 second Carhartt Pet concept brand video. These were built for retail and digital campaigns, with a focus on strong visuals, pacing, and lifestyle integration.
Location: Little Cottonwood Canyon, UT
We filmed everything in Little Cottonwood Canyon, just outside Salt Lake City, at a decommissioned water power station at the bottom of one of Utahs most iconic canyons. It was the kind of setting that added raw texture and a sense of authenticity perfect for the Carhartt brand. The location had been scouted ahead of time by creative director Alex O’Brien, which helped us hit the ground running.

Our lighting and grip setup came from Evan Moore at The Homies Lighting and Grip, who helped us dial in a mobile and flexible kit for this project.
A Streamlined Production Workflow
On the client side at SPG Company I worked with Alex O’Brien. Alex played a key role in shaping the early days of freeskiing, bringing a raw, authentic style that helped define the culture. His creative approach behind the camera gave the sport a voice that felt honest, rebellious, and ahead of its time. We’ve had a great working relationship for over 15 years and he’s not only sharp and dependable, but also just a hilarious, fun guy to shoot with. For this project, Alex led the copy and direction and built out a smart schedule based on a similar campaign we had tackled together in the past. Between his planning and my involvement from pre-production through post, we had a streamlined, efficient workflow that kept things running smoothly on set.
We shot everything on the Sony FX6, which gave us the quality and also flexibility to work around our busy schedule. To ensure no detail was missed and give the client full visibility throughout the day, we used the Atomos Sumo 19" monitor as a dedicated on-set viewing station. Having a large, reliable monitor on set made it easy to review framing, lighting, and branding in real time. We also used a Dana Dolly to bring smooth motion into the shots. This helped elevate even the simplest setups with clean, controlled camera movement.

One of the advantages of this project was the ability to run with a lean production crew while still maintaining full control over quality and pace. I handled the full video and post-production process solo, which kept overhead low and gave us the flexibility to move quickly without sacrificing polish. It’s a setup I’ve refined over the years- ideal for brands that want premium results without the cost and complexity of a large crew.
Creative Strategy Meets Execution
Each product video mixed lifestyle moments, motion shots, and model setups to give the bags real-world presence. The final assets were clean, on-brand, and ready for use across Carhartt’s full retail ecosystem from e-commerce to social to in-store displays.

This one had it all: strategy, hustle, passion and the kind of good vibes that make long days feel short. When everyone shows up equally invested and the energy on set is right, the work gets better, the process feels effortless, and that’s when the magic really happens.
